TWILIGHT

8/20/10
Got a little done recently

Found a pretty good way to measure small batches of epoxy.

The "motor box" is between two bulkheads.

The "motor box" will clear its trunk by about 1/4 inch on all four sides.

Another view of the box in its trunk.

The box, pulled from its trunk.

Trimming the sides of the bottom of the box.

Bottom in place, held in place with staples while epoxy cures.

The power stapler.

8/21/10 -- Another day or two, and we'll wrap this half in plastic sheeting and see how it floats when loaded with 200 pounds of me and one of the two 6-volt batteries. It it seems to be OK, we'll build the other half.

8/23/10 -- Today I weighed this unfinished half of the boat -- 42 pounds. Let's see. Each half of the boat will weigh about 50 pounds. Two-200 passengers, plus two-50 pound batteries. That's a total of 600 pounds.

8/24/10 -- It will be launched tomorrow evening at the rowing club pier, Creve Coeur Lake. (Click on above image for a larger one.)

8/25/10 -- We launched it today. Pictures by Dane Andree will be posted soon.
