Makin' progress on
Grant's 'Hot Rod"

Tranny

Remember this 'Cream Puff' we acquired early in 2000? Believe it or not, the old '31 Fordor was started, and we drove it around a bit. Then we took it apart and started to rebuild it as a 'nostalgia hot rod.'

(2/24/01) As of this date, we have TWO engines for the project; an "A" and a "B." Here's the transmission situation. With guidance and advice by Terry Oberer we acquired new bearings and gears for all parts showing significant wear. Those black pedals are powder coated. Terry used the project as a 'demo' assembly at our Feb. and March Model 'A' Club meetings. Clutch release arm is longer than stock, giving an "easier" pedal. All new bushings, of course. We added 'Zirk" fittings, etc. It's better now than when it left The Rouge seventy years ago.

Three views of the '31 Open Cab Pickup body by Brookville. I ordered the body from Mac's Antique Auto Parts. It was ready three months early! Who ever heard of such a thing?

Here's one idea of how the finished car might look. But it will be mostly British Racing Green and ride on 1935 Ford 16 inch wheels.

Here are the two engines.
