August 10, 2008. This morning on my daily three mile walk, I picked up the usual bag of litter (mostly fast food wrappers cans, bottles, cups and cigarette packs) thrown on a short stretch of Byrnes Mill roads during the previous 24 hours.
It's a Sunday, so there will be piles of Journal newspapers in at least two places along the way, but for now, let's enjoy the view from the top of our hill. There's fog in the river bottom today . . .
and many nice wildflowers along the way.
Here's the first batch of Journals. They were thrown there Saturday night and
a few have been picked up. The ones remaining have been run over a few times, so may be unreadable. I'll move these to the side of the road and tomorrow pick up the excess copies for recycling.
Here's the second batch. Someone has already moved them to the side of the road. How do I know? Because one copy has already been moved to the red box.
On a Sunday morning, there is not much traffic.
More flowers.
But again -- this much litter in the past 24 hours.
