Echo Lake in Future?

Echo Lake might look like this some day.
These photos were taken in 2008 at the entrance to an Illinois subdivision at Covered Bridge Lane and North First Street in DeKalb. The water is in a retention pond, serving a similar function as does Echo Lake in Byrnes Mill.
Echo Lake could be a much healthier body of water than the one pictured, so fishing and possibly swimming would be permitted.
