4/15/11 -- Easily flipped the boat today. Could not figure out how to weigh it without straining the "green" epoxy. It's very lightweight, but between frames, it's kinda flimsy without the gunwales.

Thickened some epoxy with the microballoons and ran a fillet around the interior bottom/side joint. The balloons did not behave as I expected. I think I'll order some Cab-O-Sil. (I did; see link below.)

"Cab-O-Sil is a fumed lightweight silica thickener used to reduce the flow of epoxies on vertical surfaces, as well as filling pinholes with its smooth texture."

One photo below shows the epoxy seeping through to the outside. That's good! I think the boat woud float now.

Clamped a piece of molding on the port side, just for a trial. I'm still wondering about how to make the gunwales. Started to build a ripping fence for the table saw. If it works well, I may just use construction grade "2 by" stuff.

Had planned to take SOUPER to a "cruise" in Kirkwood tonight, but KWMU weather people warned of serious thunder storms and it was cold, and I did not have a jacket.

I moved my thermostatically controlled lights to the boat's interior, covered the boat and left the shop.
