3/29/11 -- It's beginning to look a bit like a boat. It was a quite a challenge getting the two floppy panels to stay in place while I used thickened epoxy to join the second (port) panel to the stem. I tried ropes and clamps, etc., but ended up clamping the frame well aft, supporting it with a 2 x6, then spread the bottom sides -- at the final location of the frame. This permitted me to align the port panel and drill six locating screw holes. I mixed up some thick epoxy and slathered it in the joint, then screwed it together with washers under the screw heads. Tomorrow, I intend to epoxy the frame in its proper place, and the next day it's the transom's turn to be intsalled.

I was offered some long clear redwood for gunwales today. That would save some scarphing.
