PCV valve and grommet (Ford 302 engine in 1972 Skier) This is the PCV hose, valve and grommet on the engine now. Notice the "D" shaped hole in the starboard valve cover. We are installing newly restored cast aluminum valve covers to replace the stamped steel ones. (I've recently learned the "new" covers are probably after-market covers used on Ford Mustangs of the era.) Click image for larger image. The next two photos show the hole in the "new" covers. Both "new" covers have the same holes. One hole will accept the old filler cap and vent. What I need is a grommet that will fit the "new" hole and the PCV tube that houses the PCV valve. "Dorman" is one big supplier of these grommets, but I've been unable to find a grommet (or other cap I might modify) by them to fit the "new" valve cover.

This one by Scott Drake might fit:

(I've found the stock -- not optional -- covers used this "D" shaped grommet.): Click image for larger image.
Looks like this one will fit: Click image for larger image. Click image for larger image. Click image for larger image. Click image for larger image. Click image for larger image. So, it's on order. The sales guy at this company (PonyParts) knew exactly what we're looking for . . . knew all about my "after-market" cast aluminum valve cover too. I asked if he had a fastening kit for my engine. "Yes," he said, so I'll get that too! It arrived. It fit! Click image for larger image. BTW, this is a 351 engine in a '73 Ford Mustang. See how the oil filler cap on the stamped steel valve cover serves as the PCV valve connection point. My marine conversion is quite different. Click image for larger image.
