Fuel Pump
1972 Correct Craft Skier

MacSkier

A fuel vent tube (or sight glass) is part of the marine design to provide a safe fuel exit in the unlikely event of a diaphragm rupture. (I don't know where the fuel in the vent tube is routed. Does it feed into the carburetor? Keep reading, now I know.)

This (below) is the fuel pump on MacSkier. There is no vent tube. I think that plug on upper left of pump is where the tube connects to the pump, but on a pervious boat/pump, the plug was impossible to unscrew. Go figure.

Notice the soft tubing running from the fuel pump to the carburetor. This will be replaced when the engine is cleaned up.

This appears to be a good replacement.
Notice the tube connection high on the new pump:

"It needed a little work, but what boat doesn't?"
