Engine was disconnected and loosened up from its mounts, then moved in boat on trailer to Mark's place, where he lifted it out of the boat with his fork lift.

Grant found a wiring schematic for the engine and will compare it to engine before much more wiring is removed.

11/20/13 -- There is an small ugly (black crinkle) panel on aft end of the intake manifold. It contains three components;
1) a 40 amp circuit breaker,
2) a starter solenoid, and
3) a solid-state voltage regulator marked "TRANSPO-CN MS-130-0329-12V".
I removed the panel and voltage regulator for cleaning and repainting. I'll make sure my diagram agrees with what is actually on the engine before I remove any more wiring. (I've been unable to find that TRANSPO number on the www.)
(12/13/13) I've made a new bracket (panel), acquired a new solenoid and decided to eliminate the regulator -- by using a new "single wire" alternator.
